Tom Vanhoudt (born July 28, 1972 in Diest ) is a former Belgian tennis player .

Life

Vanhoudt took part in the Wimbledon junior tournament in 1989. In the singles he failed in the first round, in doubles he reached the second round at the side of his compatriot Filip Dewulf . The following year he again took part in the junior competition of the tournament, but was eliminated in both singles and doubles in the first round. In 1991 he became a professional tennis player, where he had all of his career successes in men's doubles. Between 1992 and 2005 he won 27 double titles on the ATP Challenger Tour alongside changing partners . He celebrated his greatest success on the ATP World Tour in 1993 at the tournament in Umag , his only ATP career title. He reached the highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1996 with position 203 in singles and 2001 with position 36 in doubles.

In the individual, he could never qualify for one of the Grand Slam tournaments. In the doubles competition he reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and Wimbledon. In the mixed competition, he was twice in the round of 16 at Wimbledon.

Vanhoudt played nine doubles games for the Belgian Davis Cup team between 1991 and 2002 . His record was 4 wins and 5 losses.
