Andrew Kratzmann (born November 3, 1971 in Murgon , Queensland ) is a retired Australian tennis player .

Life

In 1990, Kratzmann reached the double finals of the junior competition at the Australian Open . In the same year he became a professional tennis player, reaching the final of the Challenger tournament of Canberra . In 1991 he won his first double title on the Challenger Tour, the following year he won three more Challenger tournament victories alongside Roger Rasheed . In 1994 he won his first doubles tournament on the ATP World Tour alongside his brother Mark in Adelaide . In the course of his career, he won a total of nine tournament wins in doubles with changing partners, including the Masters tournament in Hamburg . Another twelve times he was in a double final. In singles he could not achieve any success, he lost his only two games on the ATP World Tour. He reached his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1991 with position 299 in singles and in 2000 with position 13 in doubles.

His best individual result in a Grand Slam tournament was qualifying at the Australian Open in 1994, where he was eliminated in the first round. His best result in the doubles competition was the final at the Australian Open 2000. On the side of Wayne Black he was defeated in five sets against Rick Leach and Ellis Ferreira .
