Jack Waite (born May 1, 1969 in Madison , Wisconsin ) is a retired American tennis player who was mainly successful in doubles .

Life

Waite first played on the ATP Satellite Tour from 1992 and reached the semifinals as a qualifier at his first tournament. The following year he became a professional tennis player and was able to play his way into the main draw of Challenger tournaments through qualification . In São Paulo he managed to win a game for the first time on the Challenger Tour with a first round win over Gastón Etlis . A little later he qualified for the ATP tournament in Båstad , where he lost to Stefan Edberg in the first round . Until the end of his career he still played numerous qualifications, but he did not succeed in jumping into the main field.

He was more successful in doubles, in 1994 he won his first ATP double title alongside Tom Kempers . Two more titles followed in 1996. In the course of his career, he was also in a total of eight finals with changing partners. He reached his highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1997 with position 410 in singles and 1997 with position 44 in doubles.

In the individual, he could never qualify for a Grand Slam tournament. In the doubles competition he reached the second round of the US Open in 1997 on the side of Dave Randall , they were defeated by John-Laffnie de Jager and Robbie Koenig in three sets.
