Hermann von Gerlich
Hermann Gustav von Gerlich (born August 25, 1844 in Bankau , Schwetz district , † October 24, 1932 in Berlin ) was a German diplomat and member of the Reichstag .
Life
Gerlich was the son of Gustav Gerlich, a former member of the Reichstag . He attended grammar school in Danzig and studied in Heidelberg and Berlin. After traveling abroad for several years, he joined the foreign service of the German Reich in 1872 and worked as the imperial consul first in Cairo , later in New York and finally in St. Louis . After he was temporarily employed in the Foreign Office and the royal Prussian Ministry of Commerce, he was appointed to the Foreign Office as a lecturer.
From 1884 to 1886 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency district of Bromberg 3 ( Bromberg ) and the German Conservative Party . He resigned his manat on April 27, 1886.
