Carl Gustav Adolph Eduard Gerlich (born June 6, 1810 on Gut Neu Placht , today part of Templin , Uckermark district , Brandenburg ; † November 3, 1888 on Gut Bankau, Schwetz district , West Prussia ) was a Prussian politician.

Life

The son of Carl Samuel Gottlieb Gerlich (1777-1840) and Elisabeth Friederike Magdalena Rackow (1789-1870) was baptized on July 29, 1810.

He acquired the manor Bankau in West Prussia, which remained in the family for several generations.

In 1848 he was a member of the pre-parliament . As a member of the constituency of Marienwerder 5 ( Schwetz ), Gerlich was a member of the Reichstag from 1871 to 1874 . On April 22, 1874, Gerlich was appointed head of the district of Bankau for six years .

In 1886 he was made an honorary citizen of the city of Bad Kissingen - probably in recognition of regular and numerous spa stays and because of monetary donations.

Gerlich married on June 14, 1836 at Gut Neu Placht Auguste Friederike Turcke (born November 13, 1820 at Gut Alt Placht , Brandenburg; † January 16, 1889 at Gut Bankau), the daughter of Johann Gottlieb Wilhelm Turcke (1796-1874) and Louise Friederike Caroline Elsner (1800–1835). From this marriage there were eight children, four sons and four daughters. Among them was Hermann von Gerlich , who later became a member of the Reichstag .
