Neu Placht is a small village that today belongs to the Densow district of the city of Templin in the Brandenburg district of Uckermark .

Neu Placht is northwest of Templin. State road 23 leads through the village from Templin to Lychen . The Britz – Fürstenberg railway line , which has been disused in this area but is used for tourist trolley traffic, runs northwest of the village . The place is surrounded by larger forest areas.

Neu Placht was created as a preliminary work of the Alt Placht estate , was first mentioned in 1674 and then operated as a separate estate. In the 1890s, the railway line was built with the Neu Placht station, which is now a listed and gastronomic station . In 2006 the place had 66 inhabitants.

Personalities

The Prussian politician Gustav Gerlich (1810–1888) was born in Neu Placht. The German educator, writer and editor Ludwig Ziemssen (1823–1895) worked for a time as a private tutor at Gut Neu Placht.
