geography
Vietmannsdorf lies on the edge of the natural area of the Schorfheide .
The following districts and residential areas also belong to Vietmannsdorf:
- Bassdorf
- Dargersdorf - The place with today about 180 inhabitants was first mentioned in 1375. The name is probably derived from the Slavic name Darg from a locator which was active in the area at that time. The half-timbered church from 1749 is worth seeing. In the Thirty Years' War the original stone church was almost completely destroyed, which necessitated a new construction. The previously independent community was incorporated into Vietmannsdorf on January 1, 1974.
- Good Gollin
- Ring furnace
history
Vietmannsdorf was first mentioned in 1281 as a margravial document place with the name Vitumansdorpe and Vitumanstorpe (CDB A XIII 129 Or) and in 1287 as Vitemanstorp (A XXIII 5 Or). The von Holtzendorff family lived here from the 15th century to the middle of the 19th century . Until 1928 the village was divided into an estate district and the actual village. From 1873 onwards, with the installation of a ring kiln, the Vietmannsdorf industrial association started a large brick production, which continued until around the turn of the century. Then Vietmannsdorf brick makers were to a certain extent ruined by the new production facilities in Zehdenick . On October 26, 2003, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the Templin-Land office after Templin.
In 2006 the people of Vietmannsdorf celebrated their 725th anniversary in the village with a large parade.
