The Open 13 2009 was a tennis tournament that took place from February 16-22, 2009 in Marseille . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2009 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week, the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships were played in Memphis and the Copa Telmex in Buenos Aires . The latter, like the Open 13, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category , while the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships belonged to the ATP World Tour 500 category .

Andy Murray was the defending champion in the singles, but he did not participate in the tournament that year. In the final, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga won the French duel against Michaël Llodra in two sets with 7: 5 and 7: 6 3 . For Tsonga, this was the second ATP title this year and his fourth overall. In doubles, Martin Damm and Pavel Vízner were the defending champions. Both competed with a different partner this year and both were eliminated in the first round. In the double final, Arnaud Clément and Michaël Llodra won against Julian Knowle and Andy Ram in three sets with 3: 6, 6: 3 and [10: 8].

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 512,750 euros, the total financial liabilities were 576,000 euros.

qualification

The qualification took place from February 14th to 16th, 2009. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There were also two lucky losers.
