The AEGON International 2009 was a tennis tournament , which is from 13 to 20 June 2009 Eastbourne took place. It was part of the ATP World Tour 2009 and was played outdoors on grass. In the same week the Ordina Open was played in 's-Hertogenbosch , which, like the AEGON International, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category . At the same time, a women's tournament was held in Eastbourne .

The tournament was held for the first time this year and replaced the Nottingham tournament . The winner of the first event was in the singles seeding list runner-up Dmitri Tursunow , who won the final against Frank Dancevic , who started as a qualifier in the main draw 6: 3, 7: 6 5 . With that he won his sixth title on the ATP World Tour. The duo of Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski won in doubles . They decided the final 6: 4, 6: 4 against Travis Parrott and Filip Polášek for themselves.

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 398,250 euros; the total financial liabilities were 450,000 euros.

The qualification took place from June 11th to 13th, 2009. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
