The If Stockholm Open 2009 was a tennis tournament that took place in Stockholm from October 19-25, 2009 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2009 and was held in the indoor hard court. The same week the Kremlin Cup was held in Moscow , which, like the If Stockholm Open, was part of the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Defending champion in the singles was David Nalbandian , who did not take part in the tournament this year. This year's final was won by Marcos Baghdatis , he prevailed against the Belgian Olivier Rochus in two sets with 6: 1 and 7: 5. With that he won his third title on the ATP Tour. In doubles, Jonas Björkman and Kevin Ullyett were the defending champions, but they did not participate in the tournament together again. While Björkman didn't even take part, Ullyett and his new partner Bruno Soares were able to win again. In the final they defeated the duo Simon Aspelin and Paul Hanley in two sets 6: 4, 7: 6 4 .

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 531,000 euros and the total financial liabilities were 600,000 euros.

qualification

The qualification took place from October 17th to 19th, 2009. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
