Dmitri Sitak is the brother of Artem Sitak (* 1986), who has been playing as a professional tennis player for New Zealand since 2011 and is particularly successful in doubles. Dmitri began his career in 2000 when he was in the top 1000 in the world rankings for the first time . Like his brother, he quickly showed a greater talent for doubles. In 2003, he won his only future title in singles, and in the same year was 356 at his singles career high.
In doubles, he first came to the top 300 at the end of 2005 after a total of eight titles in futures. After only one title each in 2006 and 2007, he made it back to three titles in 2008 and was also able to celebrate more regularly on the higher endowed ATP Challenger Tour . There he reached the semifinals five times in 2009. He won the title twice - in Sanremo and Chuncheon . After another final in 2010 in Rabat , he was in the world rankings with 138th in doubles, the highest in his career. After less good results, he played professional tournaments for the last time in 2011. On the ATP Tour he never managed to win a match and only one set in a total of six tournaments.
