Gerald Patterson
Gerald Patterson (born December 17, 1895 in Melbourne , † June 13, 1967 ) was an Australian tennis player .
He lived mainly from his powerful game and his strong serve, which earned him the name "Human Catapult".
In 1919 and 1922 he won the singles at Wimbledon . He also won the singles at the Australian Open in 1927 .
From 1914 to 1927 he won doubles at the Australian Open a total of 5 times, and at the US Open in 1919 he won doubles with his compatriot Norman Brookes .
Patterson also played for his country in the Davis Cup from 1919 to 1928 .
