Révfülöp [ ˈreːfːyløp ] is a large municipality in Hungary , which lies on the north shore of Lake Balaton between the places Balatonrendes and Balatonszepezd . Larger cities in the vicinity (north bank) are:
history
Révfülöp was first mentioned in a document in the 13th century. Later the place became an important ferry point ( rév = 'ferry') to the south bank. Today Révfülöp is a holiday resort.
Tourist destinations
Révfülöp is ideal for hiking and walking. In 2000 a new lookout tower opened, from which one has a fantastic view of Révfülöp and Lake Balaton. The Ecseri church ruins are located between Révfülöp and Kővágóörs. There is also a new asphalt bike path around the lake, which leads through Révfülöp.
Infrastructure
Révfülöp has a relatively good infrastructure. Two supermarkets and a butcher's shop are open in summer. In addition to traditional restaurants and pubs, there is also an Italian pizzeria.
On the hills between Révfülöp and Kővágóörs large and splendid villas and lavishly furnished houses can be found. Most of these properties also have their own private vineyard. Mainly wealthy people from Germany , Austria and Hungary spend their holidays there. These plots are in great demand because of the good views.

Révfülöp can be easily reached by train from the central station. The journey from the capital Budapest to Révfülöp via the Székesfehérvár - Tapolca railway takes a little more than three hours.
Revfülöp can be reached by car via federal or state road 71, which almost exclusively runs along the northern shore of the lake. The drive to Budapest takes about two to two and a half hours. You have the option of using the ferry in Tihany so that you can drive a greater proportion of the time on the motorway. The drive to Tapolca, about 15 km away, takes about half an hour.
