Kékkút is a Hungarian community in the district Tapolca in Veszprém County .

Geographical location

Kékkút is ten kilometers southeast of the town of Tapolca and four kilometers from the northern bank of Lake Balaton . Neighboring communities are Salföld, Mindszentkálla , Kővágóörs and Káptalantóti.

history

Archaeological finds show that there was a settlement there as early as Roman times . The place was mentioned in writing as early as 1338. In 1923 the Kékkúti Gyógy- és Ásványvíz Rt. Medicinal and mineral water factory was founded. Until 1950 the place belonged to Zala County . The primary school was closed in 1977, so that the local children have had to attend school in the neighboring community of Kővágóőrs ever since.

Infrastructure

In Kékkút there is a kindergarten, cultural center, library, mayor's office and a Roman Catholic church. The Theodora mineral water factory, whose water is sold nationwide, is of particular importance .

    • Stone cross next to the church ( Templom-kereszt ) from the 19th century
  • World War II Memorial ( Hősök emlékműve ), created by Imre Veszprémi

traffic

The secondary road no. 73133 runs through Kékkút. The nearest train station is four kilometers south in Ábrahámhegy.
