Roman Catholic Church in Hungary

The Roman Catholic Church in Hungary has six million Catholic Christians . In addition to twelve dioceses , four of which are archdioceses , there is a jurisdiction- led Apostolic Exarchate and a diocese for the approximately 290,000 Greek Catholic Christians in the country who celebrate their worship according to the Byzantine rite .

The central organ of the Hungarian bishops is the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference .

Directory of the nuncios

The first Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See in Hungary was in 1920 by Pope Benedict XV. used. After World War II, diplomatic relations were interrupted until 1990. The nunciature is located in the capital Budapest .
