The Roman Catholic Church in Slovenia is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church under the spiritual direction of the Pope and the Curia in Rome.

In Slovenia , 1,163,000 people claim to be Roman Catholic, which is 57.80 percent of the total population (2002 census).

The Catholic Church in Slovenia is divided into six dioceses , which form two ecclesiastical provinces :

• Church Province of Ljubljana:
  • Archdiocese of Ljubljana
    • Diocese of Koper
    • Diocese of Novo mesto

• Church province of Maribor:
  • Archdiocese of Maribor
    • Diocese of Celje
    • Diocese of Murska Sobota

The bishops of Slovenia are represented in the Slovenian Bishops' Conference , which is the permanent assembly of bishops.

The Holy See and Slovenia have full diplomatic relations. The Apostolic Nuncio in Slovenia has been Archbishop Jean-Marie Speich since March 19, 2019 .
