Jean-Marie Speich (born June 15, 1955 in Strasbourg , France ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Jean-Marie Speich received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Strasbourg on October 9, 1982 . In 1986 he entered the Diplomatic Service of the Holy See . He worked in the nunciatures in Germany, Haiti, Bolivia, Canada, Great Britain, Egypt, Spain and Cuba. Since 2008 he has headed the French-speaking department of the State Secretariat .

On 17 August 2013 it appointed Pope Francis to Titular Archbishop of sulci and Apostolic Nuncio in Ghana . The Pope personally donated him and Giampiero Gloder episcopal ordination on October 24 of the same year . It was the first episcopal ordination donated by Francis after his election as Pope. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Strasbourg, Jean-Pierre Grallet , and the Bishop of Padua , Antonio Mattiazzo .

On March 19, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Slovenia and Apostolic Delegate for Kosovo .
