Giampiero Gloder
Giampiero Gloder (born May 15, 1958 in Asiago ) is a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .
Life
Giampiero Gloder received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Padua on May 21, 1983 . After joining the diplomatic service of the Holy See , he was among other things secretary of the Nunciature in Guatemala .
On September 21, 2013, Pope Francis appointed him titular archbishop pro hac vice of Telde and president of the Pontifical Diplomatic Academy . The Pope personally donated him and Jean-Marie Speich for episcopal ordination on October 24 of the same year . It was the first episcopal ordination donated by Francis after his election as Pope. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Padua, Antonio Mattiazzo , and the Archbishop of Strasbourg , Jean-Pierre Grallet .
On December 20, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Vice Chamberlain of the Holy Roman Church . On October 11, 2019, Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Cuba . On May 1, 2020, the Pope appointed Archbishop Ilson de Jesus Montanari as his successor as Vice Chamberlain .
