Joseph Salvador Marino (born January 23, 1953 in Birmingham , Alabama , USA ) is an American clergyman, Roman Catholic Archbishop and President of the Pontifical Diplomatic Academy .

Life

Joseph Salvador Marino received on 25 August in 1979 by the auxiliary bishop in Jackson , William Russell Houck , the sacrament of holy orders and was in the clergy of the Diocese of Birmingham incardinated .

On January 12, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Natchitoches and ordered him to Apostolic Nuncio in Bangladesh . He was ordained episcopal on March 29th of the same year by the President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue , Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio to the United Nations , Archbishop Celestino Migliore , and the Bishop Emeritus of Jackson, William Russell Houck.

On January 16, 2013 he was by Benedict XVI. appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Brunei , Malaysia and East Timor and Apostolic Delegate in Brunei. The accreditation in East Timor took place on June 3, 2013. On October 11, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him President of the Pontifical Diplomatic Academy.
