The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Marino-Montefeltro ( Latin Dioecesis Sammarinensis-Feretrana , Italian Diocese of San Marino-Montefeltro ) is in Italy and San Marino situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Pennabilli .

history

In the 9th century the diocese of Montefeltro was established and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Ravenna as a suffragan . In 1154 the diocese of Montefeltro was placed directly under the Holy See .

On June 4, 1563 the same was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Urbino as a suffragan. The bishopric was on May 25, 1572 by Pope Gregory XIII. Relocated from San Leo to Pennabilli with the Apostolic Constitution Aequum reputamus . On February 22, 1977, the diocese of Montefeltro was renamed the Diocese of San Marino-Montefeltro and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Ravenna as a suffragan.
