history

The diocese Carpi was on December 1, 1779 by Pope Pius VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Inter plurimas and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Bologna as a suffragan . On August 22, 1855, the Carpi diocese was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Modena-Nonantola as a suffragan.
