Elio Tinti (born August 14, 1936 in Bologna ) is an Italian priest and emeritus bishop of Carpi .

Life

He was ordained a priest on July 25, 1960 by Archbishop of Bologna , Cardinal Giacomo Lercaro , and incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Bologna . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Carpi on June 17, 2000 , and he was instituted on September 24 of the same year.

The Archbishop of Bologna, Giacomo Cardinal Biffi , ordained him episcopal on August 26th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Benito Cocchi , Archbishop of Modena-Nonantola , and Paolo Rabitti , Bishop of San Marino-Montefeltro .

On November 14, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. the resignation put forward by Elio Tinti for reasons of age.
