Matthias Kriegner

Matthias Kriegner (born August 2, 1873 in Mühlbach , today in Wilhering , † October 4, 1922 in Neunkirchen ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAP ) and trade union secretary. From 1919 to 1921 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria .

Kriegner attended elementary school and worked in agriculture until his military service. In 1913 he switched to the metal industry. From 1913 he was also the district secretary of the metal workers in Neunkirchen and graduated from the party school in Klagenfurt . During the First World War , he served on the Italian front for 27 months. From 1898 he was engaged in various functions in the metalworkers' union and was active in the social democratic party and in the health insurance company. He also acted as Vice Mayor of Neunkirchen and represented the Social Democratic Workers' Party between May 20, 1919 and May 11, 1921 in the Lower Austrian state parliament, where he was a member of the Lower Austria Land Curia from November 10, 1920 during the process of solving Vienna from Lower Austria.
