Juliusz Janusz

Juliusz Janusz (born March 17, 1944 in Łyczana , Lesser Poland Voivodeship , Poland ) is a Polish clergyman, Catholic archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

The Archbishop of Kraków , Karol Wojtyła , ordained him as a priest on March 19, 1967 in the Wawel Cathedral . Pope Paul VI bestowed on him on May 23, 1977 the title of chaplain of His Holiness ( Monsignor ).

Pope John Paul II appointed him on March 25, 1995 titular archbishop pro hac vice of Caprulae and apostolic nuncio in Rwanda . He received his episcopal ordination on May 8th of the same year by Cardinal Secretary of State Angelo Sodano ; Co- consecrators were Cardinal Franciszek Macharski , Archbishop of Cracow, and Cardinal Francis Arinze , President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue .

On September 26, 1998, he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Mozambique and on April 9, 2003, Apostolic Nuncio in Hungary . Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on February 10, 2011 as Apostolic Nuncio in Slovenia . He retired on September 21, 2018.
