Thierry Gale (born May 1, 2002 in Bridgetown , Barbados ) is a Barbadian football player in the position of a striker who was under contract with the Barbadian first division club Notre Dame SC in 2018 and moved to Hungary to Honvéd Budapest after the end of the season .

In 2018, at the age of 15, he made his debut in the senior national team of his home country .

School and club career

Thierry Gale was born on May 1st, 2002 as the son of football player Dwayne Gale (* 1977), who was active in the Barbadian national team at the time, in the Barbadian capital Bridgetown. During his school years he represented Pinehill St Leonard's Boys School in the Barbados Secondary Schools Football League (BSSFL). In 2014 he won the state championship with the school at U-14 level. In 2016 he made the double (league and knockout cup) with the U-16 team and also finished the league as top scorer. He achieved the same performance with his team the following year, when the double was again achieved. Gale scored three goals in the U-16 Knockout Cup, including the game-winning goal in the final. He led the league once again as the top scorer with nine goals. In the same year he helped his school to further success when he shot the U-19 team to the championship title. On the last day of the match he was able to contribute a brace and helped the team to a double win two weeks later when he scored a goal in the final victory in the U-19 Knockout Cup. Because of his performance, he was also voted BSSFL Player of the Week that week .

At club level, Gale appeared for Pro Shottas United , whose Player of the Year he was in 2014. With the U-15 squad, he finished the Guardian Group Youth Football Competition of 2017 in first place and was also voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. The statistics website nationalfootballteams.com classifies Gale's assignments for the Pro Shottas Soccer School in 2017 and 2018 as Barbadian third division assignments. For the 2018 game year , Gale was handed over to the Barbadian first division club Notre Dame SC . For a friendly international match against Bermuda on March 24, 2018, national coach Ahmed Mohamed brought him to the senior national team of Barbados for the first time . In the 0-0 home draw, Gale, who was 15 years, ten months and 21 days old at the time, made his international debut when he came on for Rashad Jules in the 89th minute. On June 3, there was another brief appearance in a friendly against Belize , followed by an already somewhat longer appearance against Belize on August 4, 2018.
