Frank Andrew Parker (born January 31, 1916 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin , † July 24, 1997 in San Diego , California ) was an American tennis player .
biography
The baseline player was at home on all surfaces and won both on grass in Forest Hills and on clay at Roland Garros Stadium . In 1944 and 1945 he won the American championships and the French championships in men's singles in 1948 and 1949 .
He also won doubles at Wimbledon in 1949, Paris doubles in 1949 and Forest Hills doubles in 1943.
He also won the Davis Cup with the American team in 1937 , 1939 , 1946 and 1948 . In 1966 he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame .
