Jim Pugh (born February 5, 1964 in Burbank , California ) is a retired American tennis player .
He was one of the most successful doubles players in the late 1980s and early 1990s, especially alongside Rick Leach . He can also show some successes in the individual.
Career
Pugh became a professional tennis player in 1985 and was able to celebrate his first tournament victories on the Challenger Tour the following year in both singles and doubles .
His great career in doubles began in 1987 with the finals in Hamburg and three ATP titles. From 1987 to 1991 he won seventeen tournaments with Rick Leach , including the Australian Open in 1988 and 1989 and Wimbledon in 1990.
Pugh appeared six times with Leach for the United States in the Davis Cup and won all six games. In 1990 he celebrated overall victory with the team .
In total, Pugh won 22 doubles and one single title; In 1989 and 1990 he led the double world rankings several times .
