Ralf Heine (born September 1, 1944 in Leipzig ) was a soccer goalkeeper in the GDR Oberliga , the top soccer class of the GDR soccer association . There he played for Halleschen FC Chemie and BSG Chemie Leipzig . He later worked as a football coach.

Athletic career

Heine began his football career in 1955 with the company sports association (BSG) Stahl Nordwest Leipzig, with whom he last played in the fifth-class Leipzig district class. In connection with his conscription, he moved to the Vorwärts Leipzig Army Sports Association in 1962 , for which he guarded the goal in the second-rate GDR league until 1967 . In 1966 he was a member of the GDR youth national team and played two international youth matches with her in September and October 1966.

After his discharge from military service, Heine moved to the upper division Hallescher FC Chemie in the fall of 1967, who needed a replacement for goalkeeper Peter Nauert who had migrated to 1. FC Lok Leipzig . Heine played his first league game on October 14, 1967 in the game Hansa Rostock - HFC (3-1). 14 times he was in the goal of the Halle league team in the 1967/68 season. In the season 1968/69 he was the number one goal of the HFC with 24 of 26 possible missions. In the following season, Heine was only used in the last three league games of the first round. The encounter of the 13th match day HFC - 1. FC Lok Leipzig (4: 2) on December 5, 1970 was Heine's last league game for the Halle club. His sister fled the GDR and stayed in the Federal Republic. The regulation of the so-called 1st football resolution of 1970 came into force for Heine , according to which football players with relatives in the Federal Republic were not allowed to play in the GDR upper league.

In exchange with Volkhard Jany, Heine was then allowed to switch to the relegated league chemistry Leipzig for the 1971/72 season. He immediately became the goalkeeper of the Leipzig team and with his outstanding performance he became a crowd favorite. With 28 of the 30 point and promotion games played, he played a major role in the immediate resurgence of BSG Chemie. The 2nd secretary of the SED district management in Leipzig, who was responsible for sports, obtained a special permit for Heine to play in the league for Chemie Leipzig in the 1972/73 season. Heine played all 26 league games and made sure, again in top form, that Chemie Leipzig not only secured relegation, but also had the fewest goals against (26) of all 14 teams at the end of the season. Nevertheless, his eligibility to play was not extended.

In order not to have to play with the 2nd team of Chemie Leipzig in the third-class district league , Heine moved to the GDR league club Chemie Böhlen at the beginning of the 1973/74 season . With Böhlen he was season winner, but the promotion to the league was missed in the promotion round. In the 1974/75 season, Heine lost his regular place to Freimuth Bott and was mainly used in the 2nd team. It was not until Bott left Böhlen in 1976 that the now 32-year-old Heine was able to recapture his regular place in the Böhlener Tor. In 1977, Chemie Böhlen was promoted to the top league at the second attempt, Heine had contributed with 28 games.

Since his ban for the Oberliga was still in force and he was not allowed to play for the 2nd team Böhlens, Heine was forced to make another change of community and in the summer of 1977 joined his former community Stahl Nordwest Leipzig. There he had been working as a soccer coach since 1974 and had led the first team to the district league in the past season. At times as a player-coach, he achieved promotion to the GDR league in 1978 with the steel team. Until 2004, Heine remained a coach at BSG Stahl Nordwest or its successor club SV Leipzig Nordwest for 31 years , after which he became the club's managing director.
