The ATP tournament in Warsaw (officially: Orange Warsaw Open , previously Orange Prokom Open ) is a former men's tennis tournament . The clay court tournament was first held in 2001 in Sopot, Poland, replacing the San Marino tournament in the tour calendar. In 2008 the tournament moved to the capital of the country, but was only played once in Warsaw - after that the tournament was suspended for an indefinite period. In 2011 the tournament license was sold to the tournament in Kitzbühel , which in turn had taken a one-year break from the tour calendar.
Record winners in the individual are Nikolai Dawydenko and Tommy Robredo with two wins each ; In doubles, the local heroes Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski even won the title four times. Rafael Nadal won his first title on the ATP Tour in Sopot .
