The ATP Lyon (officially: Open Parc Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Lyon ) is a tennis tournament that took place in Lyon , France for the first time in 2017 . It belongs to the ATP World Tour 250 and is played outdoors on clay. The tournament replaced the tournament in Nice, 150 kilometers away . A tennis tournament was held in Lyon from 1987 to 2009, but it moved to Montpellier in 2010 . At the same time there will be a tournament in Geneva . Both tournaments are considered the last chance to prepare for the French Open .
