The Tranquility Valley (English for the valley of peace ) is a snow-covered valley in the West Antarctic Queen Elizabeth Land . In the western part of the Dufek massif in the Pensacola Mountains , it lies between Hannah Peak and the Cairn Ridge .

The valley was named at the suggestion of the US geologist Arthur B. Ford , head of the teams of the United States Geological Survey (USGS), who worked in the Pensacola Mountains from 1965 to 1979. It is named after the sheltered location, which made the valley a place of refuge for the USGS teams who came here from the windy surroundings. In addition, the name in connection with that of the Enchanted Valley should underline the special beauty of this part of the Dufek massif.
