Peter Nyborg (born December 12, 1969 in Gothenburg ) is a former Swedish tennis player .

Career

Nyborg became a professional tennis player in 1988. Since he could not achieve any major success in singles, he concentrated on doubles . In 1993 he celebrated his first tournament victory on the ATP World Tour alongside Jan Apell in Seoul . In the course of his career he won five double titles, including the tournament in Kitzbühel in the ATP International Series Gold category . Another six times he was in a double-final. He achieved his best ratings in the ATP world rankings in 1989 with position 166 in singles and in 1996 with position 38 in doubles.

In the individual, he could never qualify for the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament . In doubles he was in the round of 16 at the Australian Open , the French Open and the US Open ; at Wimbledon his best result was reaching the second round.
