Jörgen Windahl (born March 12, 1963 in Danderyd ) is a former Swedish tennis player .

Career

Windahl won the junior tournament of the Australian Open in 1981 and became Swedish national tennis champion the following year. He then became a professional tennis player and played mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour in the following years . After failing a few times in the semifinals, he won the individual title of the Challenger tournament in Bucharest in 1986 . In the same year he won his only title on the ATP World Tour at the ATP tournament in Geneva alongside Andreas Maurer . In 1988 he won his second and last individual title on the Challenger Tour in Nyon , and in the same and the following year he won a further double title on the Challenger Tour. He reached his highest ranking in the ATP world rankings in 1987 with position 108 in singles and in 1989 with position 69 in doubles.

His best performance in individual Grand Slam tournaments was two first round appearances at Wimbledon . In doubles he was there in 1981 in the second round.

Since the end of his tennis career, Windahl has been working as a tennis trainer. He works at the Båstad Tennis Academy .
