Svetlana Achundowna Tatunz

Svetlana Akhundovna Tatunz , ( Russian Светлана Ахундовна Татунц ; * 1953 in Baku ) is a Russian ethnosociologist , conflict researcher and, since 2008, professor at the Faculty of World Politics at Lomonosov University . She works as a consultant for social and state institutions in the Russian Federation .

Life

After studying history at Baku State University, graduating in 1978, she received her doctorate as a candidate for science in 1983 at the Chair of Social Sciences at MGU and habilitation at the Sociological Faculty of Lomonosov University. She has been a doctor of science in sociology since 1996, the subject of the habilitation thesis was "Ethnosociology as a science". This was followed by a research stay at the Institute for Sociology at the University of Regensburg in the winter semester 1995–1996.

From 1998 to 2008 she was Professor of Sociology at the Sociological Faculty of Lomonosov University. Thanks to the scientific work of Tatunz, the subject “Ethnosociology” was included in the teaching at the Sociological Faculty of the MGU and semester, diploma and doctoral theses were created in this new discipline.

Since 2008 she has been a professor at the chair for regional problems in world politics at the faculty for world politics at MGU. She is also the author of “Ethnosociology” and “Ethnopolitology” teaching programs at the universities of the Russian Federation according to the State Standard of the Ministry of Education of the RF. Tatunz is a member of the Russian Society of Sociologists (РОС) and the International Institute of Sociology (IIS). She was awarded the certificate of honor from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

She is the author of 50 scientific publications in the fields of ethnosociology, political science and conflict research. a. also published in German and Italian abroad. The regional focus of her research lies in the area of ​​the Commonwealth of Independent States , Eastern and Western Europe.

Research interests

Her academic focus is on ethnonational problems in the modern world, ethnic migration processes in the age of globalization , interethnic conflicts , conflict research , confrontation and dialogue. Conflict management , problems of integration in foreign ethnic spaces , diaspora as a socio-cultural institute and as a factor in foreign policy , problems of tolerance as well as ethnic conflicts and social and political stability.
