The ABDI Company ( Russian АБДИ Компани ) is the largest retail company in the field of office supplies in Kazakhstan , based in Almaty . It is listed on the Kazakh Stock Exchange .

The company employs about 1000 people in 34 markets, which are located in all major cities of Kazakhstan. Sales in the 2009 financial year were around 7.4 billion tenge.

The ABDI Company mainly sells Russian goods in its markets. But products from 3M and Xerox from the United States, Durable from Germany and Koh-i-Noor Hardtmuth from the Czech Republic are also sold.

history

The ABDI Company was founded in September 1994, two years after the collapse of the Soviet Union . At that time, office supplies were in short supply in Kazakhstan. The ABDI Company set up a wholesale business that initially only sold exercise books. Due to great demand, the company steadily expanded its range.

Today, ABDI Company's customers include numerous Kazakh companies such as Kazakhstan Temir Scholy , Air Astana or KazMunayGas .
