Thierry Tulasne (born July 12, 1963 in Aix-les-Bains ) is a former French tennis player and current tennis coach.

Life

The son of a tennis instructor was a very successful youth player. Among other things, he won the Junior World Championship in 1980. He was primarily a clay court player , which is evident from the fact that he achieved four of his five tournament victories on this surface. His most significant victory was the one at the ATP tournament in Barcelona , where he defeated Mats Wilander in five sets in the 1985 final . He achieved his best position in the world rankings in 1986 with 10th place.

Tulasne was a Davis Cup player for France for ten years ; He had his first assignment in 1980 at the age of 17. He competed alongside Yannick Noah , Henri Leconte and Guy Forget , among others .

In 2001 he was coach of the French team under Davis Cup captain Forget. He also trained the French world-class players Sébastien Grosjean , Paul-Henri Mathieu and Gilles Simon .
