Fred Simonsson (born November 27, 1994 ) is a Swedish tennis player .

Career

Simonsson mainly plays on the ITF Future Tour and the ATP Challenger Tour . So far he has won one single and six double titles on the Future Tour.

In 2012 he made his debut on the ATP World Tour in Båstad at the SkiStar Swedish Open with a wildcard . With his partner Filip Bergevi he lost against the Russians Michail Jelgin and Michail Kukuschkin with 1: 6, 2: 6. In the following years they had three more appearances at home tournaments in Båstad and Stockholm . In 2015, he achieved his first victory at ATP level in Båstad when he defeated Isak Arvidsson and Markus Eriksson 6: 4, 7: 5 with Jonathan Mridha . In 2016 he won his first Challenger title in doubles in Jönköping .

In 2015 Simonsson played for the Swedish Davis Cup team for the first time . In the encounter against Denmark , which was won 3-2, he lost the double with Johan Brunström in four sets, which were only decided three times in the tiebreaker.
