Filip Bergevi (born April 20, 1994 in Kristianstad ) is a Swedish tennis player .

Career

Bergevi, who started playing tennis at the age of six, already achieved promising results on the ITF Junior Tour. In 2012 he played there in three of four of the junior Grand Slam tournaments and reached the quarterfinals in doubles at Wimbledon with the Dane Mikael Torpegaard . The 34th place was his best place in the junior ranking.

2012 Swede also played first professional tournaments and was able to double his first title on the third-tier ITF Men's Circuit win. At the ATP World Tour event in Båstad , he got a wild card in doubles and thus made his debut at the highest tournament level. With Fred Simonsson , however, he only won three games in his opening match. A few months later, again on home soil, he was awarded another wildcard in Stockholm with the same partner . Again, they couldn't win a set. He finished the year in singles and doubles with a listing in the world rankings . From 2013 to 2017, Bergevi rarely played tournaments on a regular basis - mainly futures tournaments and occasionally, mostly through wildcards, tournaments of the ATP Challenger Tour - since he began studying sociology at the University of California at Berkeley . He also played college tennis while studying .

His most successful year is 2018 when he was able to play more tournaments. He reached his first individual finals at Futures and was able to celebrate his individual challenger debut. This year he won his second future in doubles. His best placement is 813th in October 2018 in singles and 730th in August 2013 in doubles.
