Gonzalo Escobar (born January 20, 1989 in Manta ) is an Ecuadorian tennis player .

Career

Sonega mainly plays on the Future Tour , where he has so far won six singles and eight doubles. In 2015 he made his debut on the ATP World Tour in Quito at the Ecuador Open Quito through a wildcard . He lost in the opening round to Nicolás Jarry 6: 2, 4: 6, 3: 6. The following year he was allowed to compete again and lost against Paolo Lorenzi with 1: 6, 2: 6. He celebrated his first success on the Challenger Tour alongside Manuel Sánchez in doubles in León .

Escobar played for the Ecuadorian Davis Cup team for the first time in 2015 , where he has so far had an overall record of 7: 5.
