Elizabeth Banks
Elizabeth Banks (* 10. February 1974 in Pittsfield , Massachusetts , as Elizabeth Maresal Mitchell ) is an American actress , film producer and -regisseurin .
Career
1992 Banks ended the high school and made in 1996 graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with " magna cum laude ". She then studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco until 1998 . After completing her studies, she went to New York , where she began a stage career under her maiden name and also took on her first roles in television series . Later she focused more on her film and television career and moved to Los Angeles because of better role offers , where she went under the stage name Elizabeth Banks .
Through supporting roles in various films such as Stormy Love - Swept Away , Banks had a breakthrough as an actress in 2003 with the film Seabiscuit - With the Will to Success , leading roles in films such as Baxter - Der Superaufreißer (2005) and Slither - Voll auf den Schleim ( 2006) followed. She was able to book a bigger role as Betty Brant in the movie Spider-Man and its sequels Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3 . She also appeared in the television series Scrubs from season five , in which she played Dr. Kim Briggs played. In the fourth season of the Emmy -prämierten NBC - sitcom 30 Rock , she was as Jack Donaghy girlfriend Avery Jessup to see.
From 2012 to 2015 she played the role of Effie Trinket in the novel adaptation The Hunger Games - The Hunger Games and its three sequels. In 2015 she took on the role of actress in the comedy Pitch Perfect 2 as well as directing and producing the film. In the same year she was appointed to the jury of the 72nd Venice International Film Festival .
In 2019 she appeared with the production of Charlie's Angels , in which she was also involved as a screenwriter, producer and actress.
Private life
Banks has been married to Max Handelman since July 5, 2003, whom she has known since college. The couple have two sons (* 2011 and * 2012) through a surrogate mother .
