Role models?! (Original title: Role Models) is a 2008 comedy film by director David Wain with Seann William Scott and Paul Rudd in the lead roles.

Danny and Wheeler are two promoters for the energy drink "Minotaur" in the Los Angeles area . The strategy is: To keep children away from drugs, they should resort to "Minotaur" instead (although Wheeler smokes marijuana himself ). Wheeler loves his job as he only lives for short-term fun. And in his Minotaur costume it is not noticeable when he shows up to work hungover.
Danny, on the other hand, hates his job and has a constantly negative attitude towards life, which is why his friend Beth ends her relationship with him. Then on the same day, when their promotion jeep is to be towed after a presentation at a high school , Danny freaks out. He tries to escape with the car, which ends with them ramming the school statue. Both of them were sentenced to 30 days in prison for the destruction of school property, illegal parking, willful endangerment, public disturbance of the peace, resistance to state power and attempted aggravated car theft.
However, as a lawyer, Danny's ex-girlfriend manages to negotiate the sentence down to 150 hours of community service . The two have to do this in the next 30 days at the organization "Sturdy Wings"; there, children are provided with an adult as a friend and supervisor. The facility is run by former cocaine addict Gayle Sweeny. She warns them that their presence has been judged and that they are under constant surveillance. As soon as they fail to do their job, she will arrange for them to be sent to prison. Danny is partnered with nerd and live action role-playing game addict Augie Farks. Wheeler is supposed to look after the loud-mouthed ten-year-old Ronnie Shields.
At first the situation seems hopeless, because Danny cannot discover any common interests in Augie and Ronnie does not accept Wheeler. However, after a few days Ronnie shows interest in Wheelers favorite band Kiss . Meanwhile, Wheeler is with Ronnie at a party where he again leaves him alone to have fun with an acquaintance in an adjoining room. Back at the party, Wheeler tries in vain to find Ronnie. When he checked his mailbox, he heard a message from Ronnie's angry mother, telling him that he had walked home and that Wheeler should no longer be seen.
The next morning, Gayle tells them that their parents want new mentors for their children. For legal advice, they go to Beth's office, who tells them they will likely go to jail. Then the two fight after a brief argument in the elevator, which apparently destroys the friendship.
When Danny searches his clothes, he finds the combat clothes Augie gave him. Augie's parents watch the fight and end up accepting his interests.
In the after-battle party, Augie finally kisses Esplen and becomes her king, and Danny and Beth get back together too. Gayle, impressed by the couple's efforts, explains that she had previously bought drugs from said judge in exchange for oral sex, so that she can have the decision revised with incriminating knowledge.
