Invincible - The Dream of a Lifetime ( Invincible ) is a 2006 American sports film loosely based on the biography of NFL football player Vince Papale .

Vince Papale is a 30-year-old Philadelphia Eagles football fan who does more than well as a bartender and substitute teacher, for which he is heavily criticized by his wife. When he loses his job as a substitute teacher, she clears the entire apartment and leaves him only a note on which she certifies that he is a failure who never succeeds.
The Eagles are in a sporting low at this time and sign Dick Vermeil as their new head coach. He is desperate because of the team's situation and organizes open training, a kind of casting , where anyone interested can recommend himself to the team.
Spurred on by his friends in the bar, Vince decides to take part in the football team's tryout. As the only one of several dozen participants, he arouses the interest of the coach, who then invites him to a team training camp.
