Alexander Kleinlogel

Alexander Kleinlogel (born July 15, 1929 in Mannheim ; † January 1, 2007 in Bochum ) was a German classical philologist .

Life

In 1953 Kleinlogel received his doctorate from the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . After working in the school service, Kleinlogel came to the Department of Classical Philology at the Ruhr University in Bochum as a teacher in the university service . 1968/1969 he was a fellow at the Center for Hellenic Studies at Harvard University .

His promotion to the Academic Senior Councilor and Professor of Studies in Bochum was followed in 1981 by the appointment of Professor of Classical Philology with a focus on Greek Philology . Kleinlogel was released in 1994.

Kleinlogel published in particular on the writings of Thucydides and their reception history. Another focus of my work was linguistics .
