action
The Bards Bellas members have all graduated from college except Emily and are going their separate ways. Via connections from Aubrey's father, a military man, the Bellas are hired to tour Europe to perform for the USO soldiers stationed there. Since Stacie is eight months pregnant, Emily steps in for her and flies with her to Europe. Once in Spain, the first stop on the tour, the Bellas will be guided through the military base and meet three other groups who will also perform on the tour. The Bellas promptly call on the others to riff-off, but have to realize that they can hardly keep up with their instruments . At the end of the tour, DJ Khaled will select one of the groups as the opening act for his live performance. Beca befriends his producer Theo.
The first appearance of the Bellas is interrupted by taps , the signal for the tattoo. The Bellas then decide to pay DJ Khaled a visit to his hotel. Theo shows Beca DJ Khaled's mobile recording studio and she records one of her signature loop songs. Meanwhile, Aubrey learns that her father will not make it to the Bellas' performance and accidentally knocks over a candlestick. The curtains go up in flames and chaos breaks out. The next morning, the Bellas receive a video call from Stacie informing them that their daughter Bella has been born. Encouraged by this, the Bellas decide to carry on despite the incidents.
In France, Fat Amy finds out that her father Fergus, with whom she broke off long ago and who pretends to see her performances with the Bellas, actually only has 180 million US dollars in an account in the Cayman Islands that Fat Amy's mother created for her wants. When she refuses to give her father any money, the latter kidnaps all of Bellas except Fat Amy and Beca, who is brought to DJ Khaled by Theo at the time of the kidnapping. There Beca learns that DJ Khaled has chosen her to sing before his performance. However, he only selected Beca, not including the Bellas. Fat Amy and Beca save the other Bellas, as Beca smuggles her way to them and they distract Fergus until Fat Amy kills all of his bodyguards. The Bellas escape and Fergus is arrested by the police.
After the incident, everyone is sitting together. Beca and Fat Amy tell the others about DJ Khaled's decision, but Beca immediately throws after that she will refuse the performance. The other Bellas persuade Beca to accept and perform when they realize that after college life is not as bad as they initially thought. During the performance, Beca brings the other Bellas onto the stage and they sing Freedom together ! '90 .
