Michael Ian Black (* 12. August 1971 in Chicago , Illinois as Michael Schwartz ) is an American actor and screenwriter .

Life

Michael Ian Black was established in August 1971 in Chicago in the US state of Illinois was born as the second of three children. When he was a child, his family moved to Hillsborough , New Jersey . His parents divorced when he was three years old, and his father died a few years later during an operation. He has been married to Martha Hagen since 1998. Both have a son (* 2001) and a daughter (* 2003).

He attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts but left before he could graduate there. There he also met the core cast of the comedy group The State , which had a short-lived show on MTV .

He had his most famous role from 2000 to 2004 in the television series Ed - The Bowling Lawyer alongside Tom Cavanagh , Julie Bowen and Josh Randall . In addition to his films, he has also made guest appearances on television series such as New York Cops - NYPD Blue and Crank Yankers - Wrong! .

In 2005 Black got his own television series. She bears the name Stella . In the series he plays alongside David Wain and Michael Showalter , both of whom he knows from working together for the comedy group The State .
