Reviews

The film received mostly negative reviews. On the film review site Rotten Tomatoes , the share of positive reviews is 29%.

“Take Me Home Tonight” must have been made with people who were very nostalgic about the 1980s, a relatively unsung decade. Give you more power. Unfortunately, the film doesn't give them dialogues that turn them into recognizable individuals. They speak entirely in phrases and punch lines and seem to be motivated only by lust, greed, and ego. Well, we all are, but few have so little intelligence and wit for this motivation. "

- Roger Ebert: Chicago Sun-Times

"You wait for the engine to start, but it's stuck at idle."

- Peter Travers: Rolling Stone

“Take Me Home Tonight” isn't a bad movie. In fact, it's actually quite good. It's just superfluous. "
