Felony is a Swiss symphonic metal band from the canton of Aargau .

history

The band's roots go back to the beginning of the 90s. In 1992 the first concert was played under the name "Felony". The early years were mainly characterized by frequent personnel changes. Of the original founding members, only Markus Geiger ( keyboard , electric guitar ) and Thomas Brogli ( electric bass ) are left today.

At the beginning of 1995 the band only consisted of the two founding members Markus Geiger and Thomas Brogli. The two were eagerly looking for suitable musicians. A newspaper advertisement finally brought the singer Matthias Stöckli into the band, who in turn brought the drummer Björn Rindlisbacher and the guitarist Urs Fischer with him from his earlier band projects. The band was complete again and started practicing the new songs that Markus Geiger had written in the meantime. Older songs have also been revised and added to the setlist. After all, from 1996 the band gave concerts on a regular basis. Soon the desire arose to produce an album. Back then the band agreed to use an additional female lead voice as a contrast to some of the songs. Andrea Richner could be engaged as a singer for the recordings. The CD called Cyberspace , however, never got beyond demo status. For live performances, however, a female lead voice was needed, which was ultimately found in the singer Vera Ziswyler. In August 1998 the last concert was played with this line-up, because Matthias Stöckli and Björn Rindlisbacher left the band to go new musical ways. A little later, the singer Vera Ziswyler also resigned.

A successor on drums was quickly found in Silvio Bärtschi. The search for singers turned out to be very difficult. During these five years, despite intensive efforts, it was not possible to find a suitable successor. There were a few instrumental concerts, but otherwise the band only existed in the practice room.

Finally, in 2004, a new singer was signed with Andreas Wildi. The drummer Silvio Bärtschi left the band for private reasons. Björn Rindlisbacher was brought back to replace him. A new CD production was started at full throttle. This time the band didn't want to leave anything to chance: Andrea Richner was hired again for the still missing female vocal position, who was already convincing during the 1997 recordings. The band engaged Sascha Paeth as producer . The CD with the name First Works was released throughout Switzerland in 2005. The band was finally able to sign a record deal with the record label Escape Music. In autumn 2006 First Works was released across Europe with two additional bonus tracks.

In the summer of 2007 the two singers left the band for personal reasons. While a new female voice was found in Simone Christinat , the male part remained vacant for the time being. A demo recording was made during this time. At the end of 2008 the singer switched to the Swiss band Legenda Aurea and was replaced by Melissa in early 2009. Sandy was added as a singer.

Various concerts and an album are currently in preparation.
