Michael Biehn
Michael Connell Biehn (born July 31, 1956 in Anniston , Alabama ) is an American actor and film producer.
Life
Michael Biehn was born in Anniston to lawyer Don Biehn and his wife Marcia and grew up in Lincoln , Nebraska . He has three other siblings. He attended high school in Lake Havasu City , Arizona, and became a member of the theater company there. He then attended the University of Arizona , where he studied drama for two years.
He initially earned his living as a model and actor in commercials. Biehn also worked for television, for example, where he was given a role in the series Operation: Runaway . In 1978 he made his first, but unmentioned, small appearance in the dance film Grease . His rise in the film industry was in the 1980s.
Biehn played several times in James Cameron films : In Terminator (1984) he played the soldier Kyle Reese , who protects Sarah Connor ( Linda Hamilton ) from the cold-blooded killer android T-800 ( Arnold Schwarzenegger ). Two years later he had a leading role in Aliens - The Return as Marine Corporal Dwayne Hicks , whose squad, accompanied by Ellen Ripley ( Sigourney Weaver ), fought the aliens. With his fellow actors Bill Paxton and Jenette Goldstein from Aliens - The Return , Biehn should also star in the film Near Dark - The Night Has Its Price by Kathryn Bigelow , but he turned down the role offer because he found the script confusing. Lance Henriksen , who also starred in Aliens: The Return , then took on the role. Another film directed by Cameron was Abyss , which was released in 1989.
Biehn also appeared again in Cameron's film Terminator 2 - Day of Reckoning . In a dream sequence of the character Sarah Connor he appears as Kyle Reese , whom he embodied in the first part. This scene was not used in the theatrical version, which appeared in 1991, but was only used later for the director's cut . In the 1995 film The Usual Suspects , Biehn was originally intended for the role of Michael McManus , which Stephen Baldwin played in the film. However, he had to cancel the role offer because he had already committed to the production of the feature film Jade by William Friedkin at the time . In 1996, Biehn played alongside Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage in The Rock .
2007 saw Biehn as Sheriff Hague in the movie Planet Terror directed by Robert Rodriguez . This was released as a standalone feature film and in conjunction with Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof as a Double Feature Grindhouse .
In 2010, Biehn made his debut as a director and screenwriter with the film The Blood Bond .
In February 2012, he presented his two thrillers The Divide and The Victim at the Calgary Underground Film Festival . Biehn directed the latter himself and wrote the script.
In addition to films, Biehn had roles in various television series , such as between 1998 and 2000 in The Glorious Seven (leading role), which was based on the film of the same name with Yul Brynner . From 2002 to 2003 he was as Judson Cross in 22 episodes of Adventure Inc. - Raiders of Forgotten Treasures . Together with his wife, the actress Jennifer Blanc , he runs the production company Blanc / Biehn Productions.
In the 1999 game Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun , he plays the main character of the GDI campaign.
In the video game Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon , released in 2013, he lends the main character his voice and appearance.
Biehn has twin sons from his first marriage and two sons from his second marriage.
