Atomic Tom is an American rock band from Brooklyn , New York consisting of Luke White ( vocals ), Eric Espiritu ( guitar ), Philip Galitzine ( bass ) and Tobias Smith ( drums ).

history

In 2005 the band released their first EP , Anthems for the Disillusioned . Her first single, You Always Get What You Want, followed in 2007 .

Since January 2010 the band has been under contract with Universal Republic Records , a label of the Universal Music Group . The band's first released album, "The Moment," was released on July 27, 2010 on the iTunes Store , Amazon and other online music services . The CD was released in November 2010 .

In October 2010 the band became known for the performance of their single Take Me Out , played on four iPhones equipped with appropriate instrument "apps" in a New York subway . The band stated that their instruments were stolen and that they were playing on their iPhones as a result. The story was fictitious. The associated YouTube video has been viewed over five million times to date. In January 2011, Take Me Out peaked at # 22 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart in the United States.

On the show Jimmy Kimmel Live! on October 28, 2010 the band was seen on television for the first time. The band made other television appearances and gave interviews on The Early Show , Rachael Ray Show , E! News , A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus , and Lopez Tonight .

In February 2011, the band released the cover version of Don't You Want Me by The Human Leagues for the soundtrack of the film Take Me Home Tonight . In addition to the band members, numerous actors from the film appear in the accompanying music video.

In autumn 2011 Atomic Tom supported the US tour of Switchfoot and Anberlin and in March 2012 they were part of the lineup of the legendary The Rock Boat on the journey from New Orleans to Cozumel.
