action

Minions are small yellow beings that have existed since ancient times. From yellow protozoa, they evolved into a form of life with only one goal: to serve the most terrible villains in history. After all of their masters - a T-Rex , a Pharaoh , Genghis Khan , Dracula , a Stone Age man , a knight, and Napoleon - were killed by misfortunes on their part, they decided to isolate themselves from the world. For many years they lived depressed in an ice cave because they lacked a leader.

In 1968, Kevin worked out a plan to find a new master. A rebellious teenage minion named Stuart volunteers for support, while Bob, who is actually still a child, follows Kevin despite his concerns. After a long journey, the three Minions arrive in New York City , where they learn that a villain -con gathering, called Villain-Con , is to take place in Orlando , where super villains are looking for new helpers . You can make the long way to Orlando by trying your hand at hitchhiking. It so happens that the family she is taking to Orlando are also criminals and want to attend the convention too . There the Minions succeed in stealing a ruby from Scarlet Overkill - the "first female super villain in the world" . This had previously announced that it would make the next henchman who could do this.

She takes the Minions then with their residence to London , where she applies them to the crown of Queen Elizabeth II. To steal for them. She makes it clear to the Minions that if they fail, she will kill them. With the help of the weapons of inventor Herb Overkill, Scarlet's husband, the Minions manage to break into the Tower of London . However, the crown is passed on to the queen at the last moment. Therefore, the Minions steal the crown from the Queen's carriage during a chase and are then followed by the police. At the end of this, Bob falls near Excalibur , which he pulls out of the stone with the help of Herb Overkill's mechanical hands without much effort for self-defense. In keeping with the mythical meaning of the sword, this makes Bob the rightful King of England.

Shortly after his coronation, Scarlet angrily seeks out the Minions and describes them as traitors. The Minions, who still want to serve the greatest villain, offer Scarlet the crown, so that Bob abdicates in favor of Scarlet. However, Scarlet betrays the Minions and locks them in the torture chamber, where Herb is supposed to torture them. However, the various torture devices do not work because of the shape and abilities typical of minions. When Herb goes to attend his wife's coronation ceremony, they flee through a sewer. At Westminster Abbey , the Minions disrupt Scarlet's coronation ceremony when they accidentally drop a chandelier on them just before the coronation. Scarlet sends some members of the coronation ceremony, who are also super villains, to kill the Minions. Stuart and Bob are captured while Kevin is able to hide in a bar. When Kevin realizes that Scarlet wants to kill Stuart and Bob, he breaks into Herbs laboratory, where he triggers a machine that makes him oversized and at the same time destroys the overkill residence.

Meanwhile, the Minions tribe , who remained in the ice , discovers a few Yetis , for whose leaders they begin to work. This too is killed in one of their mishaps. The Minions are furiously pursued by the Yetis and leave the continent. Finally, after many difficulties, they also reached England by plane. Meanwhile, Kevin manages to save his friends from execution, with Scarlet engaging him in a fight. Meanwhile, the Minions who followed arrive in London and roam the streets to find Kevin. Scarlet is distracted by her arrival and Kevin manages to push her away. The super villain tries to escape with Herb using her dress rocket, but the still huge Kevin holds her before the rocket explodes and all three seem to die. But Kevin, shrunk back to original size, lands safely, using his still oversized dungarees as a parachute.

Elizabeth II is finally the crowned Queen of England again and receives Kevin, Stuart and Bob in front of the people present. Suddenly it is revealed that Scarlet survived. She tears the crown off the Queen's head and tries to escape together with her husband Herb. The two are stopped by the still young Gru, who freezes Scarlet and Herb with his freezer and steals the crown himself. The Minions see Gru as their new leader and follow him.
